To create a new password or change your existing password.
You may change your password using either the Microsoft login forgot password link (provided you have already setup MFA) or on Campus using a MBCC Domain Joined computer. This tutorial only discusses the former method. If you wish to use a domain joined computer to change your password, please contact an IT Technician for assistance.
- Open a web browser, then go to the following URL: https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/ or "click forgot password" or "can't assess your account?" during a Microsoft Login.
- You will be taken to the Microsoft Password reset page. Please enter your MBCC email address and the text in the verification image, then click next.
- If you do not have at least 2 MFA methods setup for will be asked to contact IT for assistance. Otherwise, you should see a page similar to the one in the image below. Your available options may vary depending on what you set up.
- Follow the wizard to validate your identify.
- After successfully validation, you will be asked to enter your new password.
Please pay attention to the rules for setting your new password. Your new complex password cannot be a previous password used at MBCC, cannot contain an identifiable part of your name or commonly used passwords. It requires a minimum of 8 characters and at least three of the following:
• At least 1 capital letter
• At least 1 common letter
• At least 1 number
• At least 1 special character (example: !, *, $, ^, ?, &, @, #,%, etc).
Congratulations you have successfully reset your password.
** The cloud servers may take up to 10 minutes to replicate your password in all locations. If your password doesn't work after a recent password change, wait a few minutes then try again. **
